Leading OFF bucs Cruise in super Parade
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers celebrated their Super Bowl LV victory Wednesday with a parade suited to their nickname: They took the Lombardi Trophy for a cruise through town on the Hillsborough River. The plans were similar to last year when the Lightning won the Stanley Cup and staged a boat parade. The parade was a departure from the usual landlocked festivities, a nod to the area and, of course, to the coronavirus pandemic. However, many fans lining the shore and many of those riding in the parade boats were not wearing masks or social distancing. The Buccaneers won the Super Bowl, the second NFL championship in the team’s history, with a 31-9 victory over Kansas City. After the victory, videos flooded social media of the victory being celebrated by crowds of maskless fans in the Tampa area. The Lightning celebration on the last day of September was a raucous one, with little regard for social distancing.
