SPRINGSTEEN ARRESTED FOR DWI
Bruce Springsteen was arrested for driving while intoxicated Nov. 14 in Sandy Hook, N.J., Us Weekly reports. The singer, 71, was cited for DWI, reckless driving and consuming alcohol in a closed area when he was detained in the Gateway National Recreation Area. Springsteen was co-operative with officers and TMZ reports he will appear in court in the upcoming weeks. The news comes days after Springsteen’s emotional Super Bowl commercial for Jeep aired. It was his first-ever ad, and in it he spoke about finding a middle ground in U.S. politics. “It’s no secret the middle has been a hard place to get to lately, between red and blue, between servant and citizen, between our freedom and our fear,” he said. Springsteen released his latest album, Letter to You, in October 2020. It’s his first album with the E Street Band in six years.
