INSTAGRAM REMOVES RFK JR. OVER COVID-19 VACCINE CLAIMS

Instagram has removed the account of vaccine skeptic robert F. Kennedy Jr., pictured, for repeatedly sharing debunked claims about COVID-19 in violation of its policies on the pandemic, the photo-sharing platform’s owner Facebook said Thursday. Kennedy, the nephew of former u.s. President John F. Kennedy, and his representatives could not be reached for a comment. The lawyer and environmentalist has been a prominent voice in the anti-vaccine community and has promoted disproven claims that seek to link vaccines with autism. Since the pandemic started he has advised his followers on social media not to trust “mainstream media, government health officials” and doctors who say the coronavirus vaccines are safe, NPR reported. The Wall Street Journal first reported Kennedy’s removal from Instagram.
