Barney Kussner, beloved husband of Lisa. Loving father of Harrison, Dylan, and Emma. Cherished son of Connie Monson Kussner and the late Dr. Norman Kussner. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Mindy and Jeremy Alter, John Kussner and Julia Greenfield, Francy Kussner and Arthur Yallen, and Sara Kussner. Son-in-law of Jill Thomas. Barnet was a wonderful husband and father. He was a devoted son and brother. He was a highly respected municipal lawyer at Weirfoulds LLP where he practised for 32 years. Barney was known for his fair-minded, calm demeanor underscore­d by his incredible brilliance. He made us laugh and had an encycloped­ic knowledge of the Beatles and The Who. He was the kindest, most generous man, who will be deeply missed by all who were privileged to know him. He took every opportunit­y to find a way through the challenges of cancer. Through these experience­s he showed endurance, grace and much kindness. Jeff was a teacher, author and musician. He loved to read, run, swim, think, write and walk in nature. His steadiness of mind and calm demeanour were a strength to others. He is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years Susan Steudel, sons Christophe­r and Wil Steudel, parents Hildegard and Willy Steudel and sister Cecile Steudel (Peter Kochevar). He is loved by his extended family, friends and students in all directions. There will be an outdoor celebratio­n of his life at a future time.
