FAA TRACKING ALL 737 MAX FLIGHTS WITH SATELLITES

-

All Boeing Co. 737 Max flights around the world are being tracked by u.s. regulators who are keeping watch on the plane after its 20-month grounding. The Federal Aviation Administration is using a network of satellites capable of tracking planes in even the most remote regions as if they were under surveillance by local radars, according to the agency. The data is being provided by Virginia-based Aireon LLC, the FAA said on Friday. Aireon was formed in 2012 by Iridium Communications Inc. and Nav Canada, a nonprofit company that guides air traffic in Canada. A constellation of 66 satellites monitor radio beacons from aircraft, providing tracking data that is equivalent to existing ground stations. The system is helping nations including Canada and the u.k. track planes over the ocean.

There has been no surer thing this year for betting than the Utah Jazz, which has gone 19-1-1 against the spread over its past 21 games. It’s the best covering run in the NBA since the Atlanta Hawks went 19-1 against the spread over a 20-game span from Dec. 15, 2014, through Jan. 25, 2015. Utah’s run began Jan. 8. Quin Snyder, pictured, coach of the Jazz, which has the NBA’S best overall record at 24-5, has been the pointspread favourite in every game since and has covered all of them except a 128-117 loss to the Denver Nuggets and a 117105 win over the Detroit Pistons on Feb. 2 (the Jazz was a 12-point favourite and pushed). Utah has covered the spread in 22 of 29 games, a 75.9 per cent clip that would shatter the best single-season against-the-spread winning percentage over the past 30 years: According to ESPN Stats & Info, the 2009-10 Milwaukee Bucks went 54-28 against the spread, covering 65.9 per cent of their games.
