ROYALS IN TV DUEL WITH PRINCE HARRY
Queen Elizabeth and other senior British Royals will appear in a TV program to discuss the importance of the Commonwealth on the same day Oprah Winfrey’s interview with Prince Harry and his wife Meghan is aired.
For almost 50 years, the Royal family has attended an annual Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey in March, but it has been cancelled this year because of the pandemic. So the 94-year-old monarch, who heads the association of 54 nations, will deliver a televised message as part of a program entitled A Celebration for Commonwealth Day.
There will be contributions from heir to the throne
Prince Charles and from the next in line, Prince William, with his wife, Kate.
Harry and Meghan’s much anticipated tell-all with Oprah will be their first indepth interview since they moved to the United States.
Winfrey’s coup comes just after the couple has announced that they are expecting a second child and that they will no longer be performing any Royal roles.
The Duke of Cambridge is said to be keen to focus on “purely family matters” now that their work ties have ended — as long as the Sussexes refrain from personal attacks during the Winfrey interview.
