MITSUBISHI ADDS ‘WHAT3WORDS’
Mitsubishi will be the first non-premium marque to include “what3words,” the novel geographic co-ordinates program, as standard tech in the 2022 Eclipse Cross. The program shares unmarked or repeat addresses in the city, or pinpoints off-road destinations, such as the entrance to a trail. The what3words system allows users to share, locate, or navigate to exact spots down to a three-metre square, anywhere on Earth. Each square is identified by a random combination of three words. The refreshed 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross will run the what3words program in a choice of 17 languages on its internal Tomtom navigation system, which is a first, but the real news is that it will function offline, with no data, app, or cellular connection needed.
