ROETHLISBERGER: ‘I NEED TO BE BETTER’
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger acknowledged Wednesday his play must improve in order for the Pittsburgh Steelers to reverse their fortunes. Roethlisberger, 39, has thrown for 1,033 yards with four touchdowns and four interceptions in four games for the Steelers (1-3). The team has totalled just five offensive scores this season. “I need to be better,” he said. “I need to fight through and figure out how to make better decisions, how to make better throws, how to be a better football player. That’s why I just said I’m not going to quit. I’m going to keep doing that. I’m not giving up on this season. No one in this building is. It’s still early, and there’s still a lot of fight left in us.” Roethlisberger also acknowledged he is dealing with a “hip issue,” however he expects to play in Sunday’s game against the visiting Denver Broncos (3-1). Roethlisberger is playing in his 18th season in the NFL after signing a restructured contract that included a pay cut.
