In the coveted upscale Beverley Glen neighbourhood in Thornhill, this recently fully renovated semi-custom home generated a lot of interest, says listing agent Sarah Maged.

“Originally built in 1998 and nestled on a quiet child-friendly street, it attracted mostly young busy families, looking for luxury, but who weren’t prepared to do renovations themselves. It is zoned for the top public schools and French immersion schools in the area.”

The 3,563-square-foot house was fully redesigned by the current owners to fit their personal needs, she says.

“The main floor was completely gutted, openings from the kitchen to the family room as well as from the main foyer to the

living room were enlarged and partial walls and oldstyle columns were removed to create an airy and open layout,” Maged says.

“The kitchen was also fully opened and redesigned to include a second sink in the island, the removal of a pantry to create a drink station and a larger eat-in area. A new funky pass-through pantry was created between the kitchen and the dining room, allowing for the installation of an easily accessible second full-sized fridge.”

The second floor was also gutted and redesigned. The primary ensuite bathroom was opened up and expanded. It features a corner tub and a luxurious semiopen concept shower.

A walk-in closet in the primary bedroom was expanded to create two well-organized dressing areas. The second floor also offers four other bedrooms and two bathrooms.

One of those bedrooms has its own ensuite bathroom, walk-in closet, sitting area and desk space. It could be converted into a second primary suite, Maged says.

“While the area features quite a few homes of similar size, a lot are larger, which makes this house that much more desirable from a real estate perspective.”

The 50x120-foot lot has a redesigned exterior that enhances the curb appeal of the house, says co-listing agent Ian Maged. “The owners built a new enlarged walkway as well as a sitting area in the front. The poolside backyard was turned into an oasis with a funky patio with a pergola, a play area and a dining area.”
