It’s sex, drugs & no chuckwagon racing for Mötley Crüe’s

Tommy Lee.

Rock band Mötley Crüe’s drummer Tommy Lee has written a letter to the Alberta premier urging her to cancel the chuckwagon races at this year’s Calgary Stampede. Lee, pictured, says in the letter to Alison Redford that horses are injured or killed in the races every year. Lee says Western tradition can be enjoyed without what he calls “this bloody spectacle,” adding: “The only way to make these races safe is to cancel them.” The letter was written on the behalf of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Chuckwagon races are one of the most popular events at the Stampede, which bills itself as the “greatest outdoor show on Earth” and will take place this year from July 5 to 14. Canadian-born celebrity Pamela Anderson, who was once married to Lee, came out against the chuckwagon races last year, also on behalf of PETA.
