Trudeau’s 2013 ‘Just watch me’ note fetches $12,000 on eBay

-

A note written two years ago by Justin Trudeau that referenced the past while predicting the future has sold for more than $12,000. Michael Kydd, a former employee of the provincial Progressive Conservatives in Nova Scotia, was on a Porter Airlines flight on March 20, 2013, when he spotted Trudeau among his fellow passengers. He asked a flight attendant to pass Trudeau a note that asked: “Justin, can you really beat Harper?” At the time, Trudeau was running for the leadership of the federal Liberal party. Trudeau responded to Kydd’s question with a quote from his late father, former prime minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau: “Just watch me.” The senior Trudeau made his famous quip on Oct. 13, 1970, during the October Crisis.
