$5,000 REWARD OFFERED IN HUNT FOR MAILBOX BOMBER
A $5,000 reward is being offered to catch the suspect who put an explosive device in a roadside mailbox six months ago in scenic Senneville, a well-to-do suburb of Montreal. A 68-year-old woman suffered minor injuries on June 6 when a homemade device exploded around 7:10 p.m. while she was retrieving a package from her mailbox. Sun Youth Organization, a community group in Montreal, has posted the reward money, which it received from an anonymous donor. It will go to anyone who can provide information that will help police identify and locate the suspect. The Montreal arson squad is investigating. News of the roadside bombing left locals residents in the small town of 900 in disbelief, including Senneville Mayor Julie Brisebois. “I’m shocked as everybody,” Brisebois told the West Island Gazette in June.
