Hawaii's Kilauea volcano erupts
The Kilauea volcano on Hawaii's Big Island erupted on Sunday night, followed by an earthquake that struck at the volcano's south flank. The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory recorded an earthquake of magnitude 4.4 located beneath Kilauea's south flank at 10:36 p.m. local time. The Hawaii county Civil Defense Agency
asked residents to stay indoors to avoid ash fallout.
