- Melissa Hank, Postmedia News

Jim Carrey will no longer play Joe Biden on Saturday Night Live. Hours before this past weekend's episode, the comedian announced his departure. “Though my term was only meant to be 6 weeks, I was thrilled to be elected as your SNL President,” he tweeted. “I would love to go forward knowing that Biden was the victor because I nailed that s--. But I am just one in a long line of proud, fighting SNL Bidens!” SNL cast member Alex Moffat debuted as the U.S. president elect that night. Moffat, who joined the NBC sketch-comedy in 2016, also plays notable characters such as Eric Trump, Anderson Cooper, Chuck Schumer and Mark Zuckerberg. Aside from Carrey and Moffat, SNL cast members Jason Sudeikis, Kevin Nealon and John Mulaney — as well as guest Woody Harrelson — have portrayed Biden on the show.
