Bionic hand promises lifelike dexterity

Engineers at BrainRobotics created a prosthetic hand powered by artificial intelligence, giving amputees precise control over each finger. The device, undergoing FDA testing, should cost US$14,000. Its algorithm detects minute muscle signals, converts them into hand movements and learns over time.
