Q Is Kim Jong Un's luxe beach resort dead before it opens?

A Work on North Korea's first international tourist resort appears to have stopped — possibly a casualty of the pandemic and the country's gloomy economic prospects. Backed personally by dictator Kim Jong Un, the Wonsan project was to have luxury hotels, a marina and a sports complex. Yet it is well past its April 2020 deadline (which was already extended a year), according to satellite imagery by 38 North, a U.S.-based website that analyzes North Korea. Kim visited four times in 2018 and 2019 but has not been back since April 2019.
