Avalanches likely on B.C.'s backcountry slopes
Avalanche Canada is urging caution on backcountry mountains because of weak snowpack layers. Avalanches are possible in the Purcell and Cariboo ranges
and slopes around the Sea-to-Sky region north of Vancouver.
Sunday saw human-triggered avalanches in the Cariboo west of Jasper, and Monday on Rainbow Mountain, near Whistler, where a skier was completely buried but was rescued.
