Jade boulder stolen from B.C. gift shop found
The owner of Cariboo Jade and Gift Shoppe in Cache Creek, B.C., 80 km west of Kamloops, says a jade boulder stolen from outside the store earlier this month has been found after a member of the public reported it lying in a tangle of brush. Heidi Roy says the nearly 1,300-kg slab of jade has a few scars from its “adventure,” but is in one piece. A pickup truck pulling a trailer with an excavator was captured on surveillance video carrying the boulder off. Roy says the metre-wide slab is
low-grade jade and worthless as semi-precious stone.
