COLD FEET CAN MEAN MUCH MORE THAN CASE OF SHIVERS

-

Cold feet aren't just for jittery brides. Many people find that their feet go frigid during winter, layering on socks and sipping hot beverages in an attempt to shake off the shivers. But there could be medical reasons for those too-cold tootsies. Maybe you have a heart condition, you're a smoker, or you tend to sit for long periods of time — all can make it hard for your body to pump blood to extremities, according to Healthline. Anemia, diabetes and hypothyroidism could also be culprits. Anxiety can also cause cold feet, according to Medical News Today. Your body releases adrenalin when you're panicked or nervous, and when it hits the bloodstream, it constricts blood vessels in an effort to save energy. As a result, it's difficult for blood to reach your feet, rendering them icy.
