BOOTMAKER DR. MARTENS PLANS LONDON IPO
Dr. Martens is considering an initial public offering on the London Stock Exchange, as owner Permira Holdings seeks to sell a stake in the iconic British bootmaker amid rallying stock markets. The company does not plan to raise any money in the IPO, a statement said Monday. Permira began working with advisers in mid-2019 on ways to offload Dr. Martens and attracted interest from suitors including rival private equity firm Carlyle Group.
Those discussions didn't result in an agreement and Permira is said to have revived plans to exit its investment last year. Dr. Martens is the third company to lay out plans for a London listing in two weeks.
