Build Northern Gateway

-

Re: Gut-punched by our friend on Keystone pipeline, Jack M. Mintz, Jan. 20

Jack Mintz's arguments are all sound as is his recommendation that we not sit on our duffs and do nothing in response to Joe Biden's decision to abort Keystone. How about we build our own pipelines to our own coastline and stop relying on political gifts from the U.S.A. in order to sell our oil at fair prices? If we lack the political spine to build our own pipelines, then we probably deserve the treatment Biden is dishing out. Biden would be less inclined to cancel Keystone if he and his eco-warriors knew that doing so would cause Canada to bring an even larger pipeline into service, especially if the replacement would compete against U.S. oil interests and detract from long-term U.S. energy security. It is time for Canada to build the Northern Gateway project. If we do, future generations of Canadians will thank Mr. Biden for bringing us to our senses.
