Most wild gorillas are right-handed, study finds
Observation of several troops of gorillas by Kyoto University and other institutions found that wild gorillas are predominantly right-handed. The finding is expected to provide clues into why about 90 per cent of humans are right-handed. The team observed 21 wild western lowland gorillas of different ages in Gabon from 2017 to 2019, noting 4,200 patterns. Fifteen gorillas were right-handed and six left-handed.
