Fund care, not MAID
Re: Canada is in no shape to expand access to MAID, Chris Selley, Feb. 6
Chris Selley is right. Canada's first concern should be to provide adequate access to such medical care as homecare resources and palliative care instead of expanding access to MAID. I am a family physician and I am very concerned about my elderly patients and disabled patients who may feel pressured to choose MAID due to lack of medical supports and the rising costs of health care. Bill C-7 sends them the message that the government would rather put money into helping them die instead of helping them to live. Dr. Jacqueline Chow, Toronto
