Digital News Subscripti­on Tax Credit

Subscriber­s to the National Post in print, online and via the ePaper are now eligible for the new federal Digital News Subscripti­on Tax Credit.

If you are a paying subscriber, you can claim on your personal income tax and benefit return for the years 2020 to 2024.

The credit is designed to apply to digital subscripti­ons. However if you are a print subscriber to the National Post, you can claim the credit using the qualifying digital subscripti­on rate of $14 per month plus sales tax of five per cent in B.C. and Alberta, 13 per cent in Ontario and 14.98 per cent in Montreal. The credit is applicable for every month you have received the print edition starting in January 2020.

All receipts for the tax credit will be emailed to you between March 8 and 19. If you want to supply or update your email address on your home delivery subscripti­on account, please visit nationalpo­st.com/taxcredit and fill in the email form. The deadline to update your email is March 4, 2021.

If you do not have an email address, please reach out to a family member or friend who can provide an email address on your account in order to obtain the tax receipt. The deadline to provide an email address is March 4, 2021.
