Author Mordecai Richler was awarded the Stephen Leacock Memorial Medal for Canadian Humour Writing for his novel Barney’s Version. Known for his biting wit and trenchant satire, Richler wrote numerous novels, children’s books, and essays. His most recognized works are set in his home turf in the Jewish section of Montreal.
