Mo­torist faces drug charges

A 36-year-old Nipiss­ing First Na­tion man was charged with sev­eral of­fences af­ter On­tario Pro­vin­cial Po­lice stopped a mo­torist for speed­ing at 11:46 p.m. Tues­day on high­way 17 in Nipiss­ing First Na­tion. OPP said po­lice re­cov­ered drug para­pher­na­lia, nalox­one, pro­hib­ited ri­fle mag­a­zines, am­mu­ni­tion, drugs sus­pected to be metham­phetamine pills, crys­tal metham­phetamine and mar­i­juana.

Dwayne Marier of Nipiss­ing First Na­tion was charged with pos­ses­sion of a sched­ule I sub­stance, pos­ses­sion for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing, two counts of unau­tho­rized pos­ses­sion of a pro­hib­ited de­vice, driv­ing a ve­hi­cle with cannabis read­ily avail­able, driv­ing while un­der sus­pen­sion and speed­ing. he is sched­uled to at­tend the On­tario Court of Jus­tice in North Bay on Feb. 19.
