Motorist faces drug charges
A 36-year-old Nipissing First Nation man was charged with several offences after Ontario Provincial Police stopped a motorist for speeding at 11:46 p.m. Tuesday on highway 17 in Nipissing First Nation. OPP said police recovered drug paraphernalia, naloxone, prohibited rifle magazines, ammunition, drugs suspected to be methamphetamine pills, crystal methamphetamine and marijuana.
Dwayne Marier of Nipissing First Nation was charged with possession of a schedule I substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited device, driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available, driving while under suspension and speeding. he is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on Feb. 19.
