Mus­tard Seed stages Cot­ton Patch Gospel

Mus­tard Seed the­atre is pre­sent­ing the foot-stomp­ing, blue grass mu­si­cal Cot­ton Patch gospel this week­end at trin­ity united Church.

a cast of eight stu­dents, along with a five-piece blue grass band will take the stage Fri­day and Satur­day evening at 7 pm, as well as Sun­day at 1:30 pm.

Writ­ten by tom Key and rus­sell treyz, with mu­sic and lyrics by harry Chapin, Cot­ton Patch gospel is di­rected by dar­lene La­fer­riere and stars nick Babin, Colton Cha­put, Joe drinkwal­ter, robert Leit­ner, Beat­rice Lloyd, han­nah Mccal­lum, Saman­tha Ped­die and emma Web­ster.

the Cot­ton Patch Band is com­prised of ted Chase on man­dolin, Phil Cas­sell on banjo, Chris Clarke on har­mon­ica and per­cus­sion, Brian risk on bass and Mar­cel Mac­don­ald on gui­tar.

Mus­tard Seed the­atre was cre­ated in 2007 to pro­vide op­por­tu­ni­ties for youth to build com­mu­nity around a com­mon love of the­atre. the in­au­gu­ral the­atri­cal of­fer­ing, god­spell, was per­formed in the spring of 2008. Since that time, it has pro­duced about a dozen mu­si­cals for youth and young adults.
