Six students from St. Michael’s College School have now been charged in connection to assault, gang sexual assault and sexual assault with a weapon after two videos surfaced on social media depicting graphic alleged sexual assault. Officers with the Toronto Police Service first became aware of the alleged sexual assault on Nov. 14. In the ensuing days and weeks, the total number of incidents that police are investigating has increased to six. The private all-boys Catholic school has struggled to contain the press around these incidents, particularly over whether there was a failure of leadership, contributing to a culture of bullying. On November 22, the principal and president of St. Michael’s College School resigned from their posts.

A WAY FORWARD? Following the arrests, St. Mike’s held a meeting attended by 300 alumni.
