A suspect is being sought
by officers in connection with a sexual assault in Yorkville. On Nov. 4, a woman was walking along Cumberland Street near Bellair Street at approximately 1:20 a.m. when a man approached her and attempted to sexually assault her. When she attempted to flee, he followed her and approached her again and sexually assaulted her. He fled the area after she screamed. Investigators have released security camera video footage, as well as photographs, and are seeking assistance from the public in identifying the suspect.
A 49-year-old male suspect
has been arrested by the Toronto Police Service (TPS) in connection with a sexual assault investigation that began in late November, after the the suspect entered the home of a woman and assaulted and sexually assaulted her before fleeing. This incident occurred in the area of Byng Avenue and Yonge Street. TPS released a photograph of the suspect, and put out a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested on Dec. 11 and charged aggravated assault, sexual assault, forcible confinement, overcome resistance to administer drug, and four other charges.
Toronto Police Service
is seeking assistance in a shooting investigation. The incident occurred on Nov. 17 in the area of Bathurst Street and Bloor Street West, where police responded to a call of reported gunshots. So far, police know that an altercation occurred between two groups of people when a firearm was discharged, hitting a male victim. The victim took himself to hospital for treatment. His injuries were not life-threatening. Police are looking for new information and are asking individuals with knowledge of this incident to come forward.
