A sus­pect is be­ing sought

by of­fi­cers in con­nec­tion with a sex­ual as­sault in Yorkville. On Nov. 4, a woman was walk­ing along Cum­ber­land Street near Bel­lair Street at ap­prox­i­mately 1:20 a.m. when a man ap­proached her and at­tempted to sex­u­ally as­sault her. When she at­tempted to flee, he fol­lowed her and ap­proached her again and sex­u­ally as­saulted her. He fled the area af­ter she screamed. In­ves­ti­ga­tors have re­leased se­cu­rity cam­era video footage, as well as pho­to­graphs, and are seek­ing as­sis­tance from the pub­lic in iden­ti­fy­ing the sus­pect.

A 49-year-old male sus­pect

has been ar­rested by the Toronto Po­lice Ser­vice (TPS) in con­nec­tion with a sex­ual as­sault in­ves­ti­ga­tion that be­gan in late Novem­ber, af­ter the the sus­pect en­tered the home of a woman and as­saulted and sex­u­ally as­saulted her be­fore flee­ing. This in­ci­dent oc­curred in the area of Byng Av­enue and Yonge Street. TPS re­leased a pho­to­graph of the sus­pect, and put out a war­rant for his ar­rest. He was ar­rested on Dec. 11 and charged ag­gra­vated as­sault, sex­ual as­sault, forcible con­fine­ment, over­come re­sis­tance to ad­min­is­ter drug, and four other charges.

Toronto Po­lice Ser­vice

is seek­ing as­sis­tance in a shoot­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tion. The in­ci­dent oc­curred on Nov. 17 in the area of Bathurst Street and Bloor Street West, where po­lice re­sponded to a call of re­ported gun­shots. So far, po­lice know that an al­ter­ca­tion oc­curred be­tween two groups of peo­ple when a firearm was dis­charged, hit­ting a male vic­tim. The vic­tim took him­self to hospi­tal for treat­ment. His in­juries were not life-threat­en­ing. Po­lice are look­ing for new in­for­ma­tion and are ask­ing in­di­vid­u­als with knowl­edge of this in­ci­dent to come for­ward.
