The Baycrest Foundation supports programs and services that promote excellence in care, research, innovation and education in aging and brain health. As the charitable arm of Baycrest Health Sciences, the Foundation provides crucial funding for areas such as: ongoing programs and a spectrum of care services for our community; innovative research into cognition, dementia and brain health; and local, national, and international education that supports healthy living for a growing population.

Baycrest is a world-leader in the field of brain health and aging, and each day more than 1,200 people visit the campus for our day clinics, outpatient services, Rotman Research Institute, arts and culture programs and the many other activities that take place across our campus. Similarly, 1,100 residents call Baycrest home every night.

Founded as a seniors’ home in 1918, nearly 100 years later Baycrest is so much more. Baycrest Health Sciences is now a renowned centre of excellence and leading resource on brain health, sought-after by local, national and international governments and agencies looking to tap into its expertise in the field of brain health and aging.

The Baycrest Foundation maintains longstanding relationships with, and stewardship of, community philanthropists who have helped build up the campus, and everyone and everything in it, to truly become a leader in the field.

A century of working together with visionary donors has allowed Baycrest to continue to evolve in order to provide excellence in care for an aging community today; and to ensure it continues to pioneer care practices in brain health and discover new ways to delay the onset of dementia.

Working hand-in-hand with staff, the Baycrest Foundation’s donors continue to build a legacy of care, innovation, education and research in brain health and aging that is second-to-none.

As we mark our centennial in 2018, we look forward to continuing this important journey with the community over the next 100 years… and beyond.
