285 Leif Erik­sen Sea Cadets per­form im­pres­sive dis­play

The RCSCC 285 Leif Erik­sen Sea Cadet squadron de­liv­ered its 36th an­nual cer­e­mo­nial re­view on June 6.

The cadets were in­spected on the oc­ca­sion by re­view­ing of­fi­cer, LCdr Ger­ald Hart­ley.

In ad­di­tion to in­spec­tion, the cadets pre­sented ju­nior drill team, band, se­nior drill and colour party dis­plays. There was also a mov­ing me­mo­rial trib­ute to for­mer sea cadet Danny Bur­den who has passed away. Reg­u­lat­ing Petty Of­fi­cer Caleb Bur­den drums on the cym­bals dur­ing the band dis­play. Caleb won Best Staff Cadet.

Petty Of­fi­cer Sec­ond Class Rikita Twyne and Petty Of­fi­cer Sec­ond Class Pa­trick Humby per­form as flag bear­ers dur­ing the sea cadets’ March Past. Rikita won Best Dressed Cadet, Best Colour Party Cadet and the Lord Strath­cona Trust Medal.

Petty Of­fi­cer Sec­ond Class Rikita Twyne, Petty Of­fi­cer Sec­ond Class Pa­trick Humby and Petty Of­fi­cer First Class Tracy Bussey bear flags dur­ing the March Past. Tracy won the Le­gion Medal of Ex­cel­lence.

Able sea­man Kobe Pey­ton played glock­en­spiel dur­ing the sea cadets’ band dis­play. Kobe won Best First Year Cadet.

Band Petty Of­fi­cer Lu­cas Patey per­formed on drums dur­ing the band dis­play. Lu­cas won Best Petty Of­fi­cer.

Lead­ing sea­man Al­li­son Jones played the glock­en­spiel dur­ing the sea cadets band dis­play. Al­li­son won Best Bands­man.
