RCMP ‘hubbing’ concerns Northern Peninsula councils
Councils on the Great Northern Peninsula remain concerned about RCMP NL’s decision to hub police stations who are on call after hours. This means that neighbouring detachments will respond to calls for service at their own detachment and the neighbouring detachment on an alternating basis. Roddickton-Bide Arm and St. Anthony were “hubbed” together, as were Port Saunders and Flower’s Cove. Councils were concerned this would mean potentially increased response times in the event of emergencies.
