Chilly temperatures hit Northern Newfoundland
Despite below-zero temperatures, two-year-old Dana Brown of St. Anthony bundled up and ventured outdoors on Saturday to go for a ride on a friend’s GT rider. Like many children, he wasn’t about to let a bit of cold weather keep him from enjoying the holidays outdoors.
Temperatures around Northern Newfoundland dipped to 30 degrees below zero on the weekend, but the cold weather didn’t keep everyone indoors. St. Anthony residents John Simms (left) and Sam Keats (right) were among a few duck hunters who ventured out in their speedboats to hunt ducks. When they returned to the harbor, their bearded faces told that it wasn’t much warmer on the ocean than it was on the land.
