Re­sis­tance is fu­tile

Af­ter de­cid­ing that killing Iraqi civil­ians for Bush and Cheney wasn’t some­thing he could live with, U.S. sol­dier Jeremy Hinz­man brings his wife and son to Toronto and be­comes one of the war’s most out­spo­ken op­po­nents. Other sol­diers fol­low his lead and unite un­der the War Re­sisters Sup­port Cam­paign. The Canadian gov­ern­ment de­cides that the ques­tion of the war’s le­gal­ity is not a valid ar­gu­ment for refugee sta­tus. Re­gard­less, the re­sisters keep try­ing to con­vince the feds to make Canada the “refuge from mil­i­tarism” Pierre Trudeau de­clared it to be dur­ing the Viet­nam War.
