Resistance is futile
After deciding that killing Iraqi civilians for Bush and Cheney wasn’t something he could live with, U.S. soldier Jeremy Hinzman brings his wife and son to Toronto and becomes one of the war’s most outspoken opponents. Other soldiers follow his lead and unite under the War Resisters Support Campaign. The Canadian government decides that the question of the war’s legality is not a valid argument for refugee status. Regardless, the resisters keep trying to convince the feds to make Canada the “refuge from militarism” Pierre Trudeau declared it to be during the Vietnam War.
