THE RIVOLI 332 Queen West, 416-596-1501 Bymark’s 40-buck whopper might be made from beer-fed beef, the much­bal­ly­hooed burger at Thorn­hill’s Golden Star is a Har­vey’s clone, and Lick’s would do the trick if they’d just stop the cheesy singing, but our vote for king of the quar­ter-pounders goes to the Riv’s ver­sion, served on chal­lah and topped, as it has been for nearly 24 years, by sweetly sautéed onions. Hon­ourable men­tion: sib­ling Queen Mother’s 70s freaka­zoid veg­e­tar­ian Cozmic Burger.
