At Paragon Travel I’m the sales manager responsible for looking after staff, human resources and interactions with clients.
After high school I did a welding apprenticeship and took some courses at St. Clair College in Windsor. At around that time, I had the opportunity to get involved in travel and went into business. Travel was much more fun and interesting than welding, because at that time – about 20 years ago – there were a lot of barriers related to being a woman in the trades; I found it very difficult to overcome them.
I had done some business courses at Centennial College, but in the early days of Paragon, we were working 70 to 80 hours a week. In 2010, when the business was more established, I was able to go back to school.
