Fraser River peaks, but experts still warn of flood risk

BRITISH COLUMBIA

-

Residents across the Fraser Valley were breathing a sigh of relief yesterday as the Fraser River hit its predicted peak with minimal flooding. But while the river is expected to remain at six metres for the next week, experts said it’s too early to predict an end to the flooding and said there is a risk until at least the end of the month. Hundreds of homes still remain under evacuation alert throughout the region.
