Suicide bomb kills dozen soldiers

A suicide truck bombing at an Iraqi military checkpoint south of Baghdad killed a dozen soldiers, the deadliest in a series of explosions. The explosion in Iskandariy­ah, which injured 30 people, occurred near an Iraqi military base as soldiers were gathering to change shifts. In other violence, a rocket attack on the U.S. detention centre, known as Camp Bucca, in southeaste­rn Iraq, killed six detainees and wounded at least 50.
