Boy, 14, charged with murder
Police have found a body buried near a house in Warkworth, Ont., and charged a 14-year-old boy with murder. The body is believed to be that of 33-yearold Michelle Noella Barnoski, who was reported missing more than two weeks ago. The remains were discovered Thursday after a search of a house on Concession Street in the southern Ontario town, which is roughly halfway between Toronto and Kingston. The 14year-old boy, who has been charged with second-degree murder, was one of two people arrested. The missing woman’s housemate, 34-year-old Marc Vickers, has also been charged with being an accessory after the fact. Ms. Barnoski was last seen driving away from her home in Warkworth on May 27. Three days later, her car was found abandoned near a secluded area just south of the town. The OPP said yesterday it wasn’t clear what relationship the boy had with Ms. Barnoski, but added it doesn’t believe there is a danger to the public. The boy cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. A post-mortem examination has been scheduled for today on the remains, which are strongly suspected to be Ms. Barnoski’s.
