Younger Vick runs into arrest
Virginia native and former football star Marcus Vick is out on bond after being arrested in Norfolk early yesterday morning and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Norfolk Police Department spokesman James Robertson said Vick, 24, was pulled over around 2:15 a.m. after a brief police pursuit. He was booked on a charge of driving under the influence and was issued citations on reckless driving, eluding police and driving on a suspended license, officials said. Vick was released on bond later in the morning. After a standout high-school career as a quarterback, Vick attended Virginia Tech. He had on-field success, but was dismissed from the team on Jan. 6, 2006, after various arrests, traffic violations and other incidents. Vick, who played briefly for the NFL’s Miami Dolphins, is the younger brother of Michael Vick, the former star college and professional quarterback who is currently in federal prison after pleading guilty to charges stemming from an illegal dogfighting ring.
