Wilson homes in on title
Greg Wilson used home-course advantage to win the Quebec men’s midamateur golf championship at Whitlock, in Hudson, yesterday. Wilson shot a closing 73 for a total of 219 and a five-stroke victory over Alpin’s Adélard Collin (74). Ottawa Hunt’s Chris McCuaig (75) was the leading player from the capital region in eighth place at 231. Another Whitlock golfer, Mary-Ann Lapointe, won the 36-hole Quebec women’s mid-amateur title, shooting an 80 for a 153 total to edge Richelieu Valley’s MarieThérèse Torti (78) by two shots. Rivermead’s Guylaine Doucet (82) was the leading capital-region golfer, finishing fourth at 162.
