B.C. film, TV spending on the rise
Film and television production spending in British Columbia in 2009 totalled $1.3 billion, an increase of more than $100 million over 2008, according to the B.C. Film Commission. The commission said 239 productions were shot in B.C. over the year, including 84 foreign productions and 155 domestic productions. Although expenditures were up, the total number of projects represented a decrease from 260 productions in 2008.
