Walmart deal boosts jobs at Raleigh


Raleigh Canada is boosting its workforce at its manufactur­ing plant in Waterloo, Que., after being chosen as the principal supplier of bicycles for people aged five and up at Walmart stores in Canada. David Edwards, manager of the Waterloo plant, said the seasonal workforce has already jumped by 30 people to 170, and he expects it will reach 200 shortly. The deal is expected to amount to more than 100,000 bikes.
