Share your Up Beat stories

Because the Citizen doesn’t want any good news to be overlooked, we’re inviting readers to submit their own stories to Up Beat.

You won’t be limited to talking about events that have already happened. We’d also like to hear about good news in the planning stages, especially if a mention in Up Beat would improve the chances for success. Keep your story to 700 words or less, and try to answer the five Ws: who, what, when, where and why. Add interesting details and include a few quotes from people involved.

Although we know Ottawa residents have concerns beyond the city limits, your story should have local relevance. The stories will be edited for style. Photographs are welcome and should be submitted as JPEGs.

If your story is time-specific, the deadline for submission is at least two weeks before publication.
