Renfrew Art in the Park: Stroll through a tented village and check out more than 30 artists, food vendors and entertainm­ent at a Renfrew Art Guild show and sale Saturday and Sunday. House tour: Head to picturesqu­e Merrickvil­le for the annual house and garden tour Saturday. Five stunning homes make up this year’s tour, including an 1844 Georgian built by the town’s founding family. It runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are limited and are $25 at 613-269-3452, Mirick’s Landing Country Store (Main and St. Lawrence streets) or Pottery by Boz (330 Main St. E).

Splish splash: Take a peek at a dozen backyard water features both big and small at the annual Ottawa Water Garden Festival organized by The Pond Clinic. It runs Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a reception and cash barbecue at the home of organizers afterwards. Tickets are $20 with proceeds going to The Royal Mental Health Centre. Giving thanks: Ottawa Mixed Media Artists celebrates its volunteers with a group show called Ask a Busy Person that runs daily until Aug. 24. Check out the works of about a dozen artists in various media from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Nepean Sportsplex’s D’OMMA Gallery, rear entrance, 1701 Woodroffe Ave. Free admission. Waste depot: Got hazardous household waste to get rid of? The city’s next depot will be held Aug. 11 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Park & Ride, 900 Champlain St. For details on what you can and cannot drop off, visit the garbage and recycling section at ottawa.ca or call 3-1-1.

Art on the farm: Friends of the Central Experiment­al Farm will host an exhibition with artists working in various media who will display and sell their original works under the trees.
