Same Suits, different alliances

- MELISSA HANK

“There are two things in this firm I hold very sacred: my Uni-balls and my raspberry bran bars,” huffs senior partner Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) in the season 3 première of Suits, protesting the disappearance of his pens.

It’s a microcosm of the turmoil at Pearson Darby. In the beginning, alliances were clear. Rumpled fraudulent lawyer Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) was loyal to his mentor, slick-suited attorney Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), who in turn was loyal, mostly, to his mentor Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres).

But by the time season 2 faded to black, Mike had betrayed Harvey and aligned with Jessica, who was at odds with Harvey over an impending merger with a British firm.

“Going into the première, we had to deal with the fallout,” creator and executive producer Aaron Korsh tells The Hollywood Reporter.

Toronto-born Adams was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for the show’s first season. And season 3 will offer him plenty of chances to shine. Mike will meet Rachel’s family and try to win back Harvey’s favour, says Korsh. Plus, we’ll get a flashback episode, a mock trial and a budding flirtation between Harvey’s secretary Donna (Sarah Rafferty) and the British version of Harvey (Max Beasley). (10 p.m., Bravo)

Pals from the Blue Collar Comedy Tour get animated — literally — in Bounty Hunters, debuting tonight. Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy and Bill Engvall (but not Ron White) star as bounty hunters tracking their prey from out of a dinky strip mall office. (10 p.m., Comedy Network)

Filmed-in-Australia comedic drama Camp aims to raise its standards with a game of capture the flag. Kip discovers he has an admirer, and Robbie’s mother gets into trouble with gambling. (10 p.m., NBC, Global)

The ESPY Awards ceremony, a glitzy excuse for sporty folk to dress up, commemorates the past year in sports by recognizing major achievements. (9 p.m., TSN)
