Choose Fitness Depot for all your fitness equipment, patio furniture and hot tub needs

-

Fitness Depot is the National Capital Region’s premier fitness superstore, with two locations to serve all your fitness, wellness and relaxation needs. Carrying all leading manufacturers of home fitness equipment, including Precor, Diamondback and Lifefitness, Fitness Depot is the place to go if you are looking for a home gym, treadmill, exercise bike or elliptical trainer.

Fitness Depot opened their original store in October 1992 and moved to their current location at 499 IndustrialAve. in 1999. Their second location at 255 Kanata Ave. in Kanata opened on Dec. 1, 2003. Owner Dave Ross has been involved right from the start and brings more than two decades of fitness-related experience to the business.

“Cardio equipment, in particular elliptical trainers and treadmills, have been our most popular products over the years,” says Dave. “Rowing machines have gained in popularity, but ellipticals and treadmills have withstood the test of time. Selection is important to our customers and we have — by far — the best selection and best quality of cardio equipment in the area. Our customers choose Fitness Depot because of the quality of our products and our knowledgeable, professional staff members. We have a very low staff turnover rate; many of our staff have been with us for 10 years or more.”

Fitness Depot serves both individual customers and commercial companies.

“We serve everyone from individual clients wanting to set up a home gym, to major organizations such as DND, to professional fitness facilities like the Ottawa Athletic Club. We cater to all of our customers’ needs, whether they are elite athletes, recreational participants or simply doing rehabilitation from an injury.”

One of the big selling points at Fitness Depot is that their sales associates also do delivery and setup. “The same people serve our clients from start to finish. Customers can come in, purchase a piece of equipment, then the same person that helped them select their equipment will deliver it to their home and install it, usually on the same day.”

Fitness accessories of all types — bosu balls, foam rollers, tension cables, resistance bands, to name just a few — are plentiful and always available in-store. “We go beyond supplying the basics,” says Dave. “People expect us to have all accessories in stock, and we do.”

The Service department at Fitness Depot is second to none. “We have the best tech support you can get, and it is all done inhouse,” says Dave. Should anything go wrong with equipment purchased from Fitness Depot, customers don’t even need to call the store. They can simply go online and fill out a form. The Service department will be in contact within 24 hours and the problem will be quickly resolved.

But Fitness Depot is more than just fitness equipment. They also carry one of the city’s largest selection of porch, patio and spa equipment. Located at their Industrial Avenue location in the big yellow building, Porch & Patio carries a fine line of patio furniture including their popular chat sets and wicker sets, along with chairs, tables, loungers, recliners, umbrellas and more.

Dave Ross is justifiably proud of their Homecrest line of patio furniture. Built entirely in North America, Homecrest offers several collections of patio furniture that can be customized with an array of frames, finish colours and fashionable fabric options. “Customers will get many, many years of use from their Homecrest patio furniture,” says Dave. “The beauty of this brand is that it is completely customizable and the components are interchangeable. So, for example, if you want to update the look of your patio chairs 15 years after purchasing them, it is easy to order and replace the chair slings with a more contemporary fabric or colour. This will save our customers money, as they won’t have to replace their entire patio set, just the components.”

Fitness Depot is also the area’s exclusive distributor for Bullfrog Spas, the world’s only hot tubs equipped with the patented JetPak System seats. JetPaks are essentially removable jetted seat backs that are designed to fit into any seat in a Bullfrog Spa. This revolutionary technology has been hailed by experts as the most significant advancement since the invention of the portable hot tub.

The seats are unique, as they can be moved around within a hot tub and the backrests can be changed to provide different massage experiences. JetPak technology delivers incredible power, maximum versatility and allows upgrades to hot tubs jetting with new JetPaks, both now and in the future.

“Bullfrog Spas are constructed from recycled resin and are 100 per cent green,” says Dave. “There is no wood, so they won’t deteriorate and no steel, so they won’t rust.”

Bullfrog Spas are virtually leak-proof and are extremely energy efficient, using 90 per cent less plumbing no diverter valves, which gives Bullfrog Spas more power than competing hot tubs. Installation is a snap, as the spas can simply be placed on a resin base over level ground.

Fitness Depot’s main store is located at 499 Industrial Ave., while their second store is located at 255 Kanata Ave. Their Porch & Patio division can be found at both stores, while the Commercial department is situated at the Industrial Avenue location.
