❚ span-o (the small press action network — Ottawa) presents The Factory Reading Series, with readings by authors Hoa Nguyen, Dale Smith and Mari-Lou Rowley. Doors open at 7 p.m., readings at 7:30 p.m., upstairs at The Carleton Tavern, 223 Armstrong St.

❚ Kimberley Mansfield, will sign her book Deadly Tricks at Perfect Books, 258A Elgin St., from 1-3 p.m.

❚ Chris Nihmey will sign books at the Carlingwoo­d Coles bookstore from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nihmey is a volunteer at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre and a writing mentor with residents, and is putting together a soon-to-be-published anthology of their works.
