Gatineau candidate faces fine for waving sign on road

A Gatineau mayoral candidate faces a $501 fine for waving a sign on the side of Highway 50 Tuesday. Police said François P. D’Aoust, 49, had taped a sign that read “Merci” to a shovel to wave to motorists around 6:30 a.m. When police arrived, they escorted D’Aoust from the highway.
