Hockey meets opera for fundraiser

Opera Lyra, the Ottawa Senators Foundation and the Italian-Canadian Community Centre have teamed up to host Hockey Night at the Opera, a fundraising gala Oct. 30 at Sala San Marco Banquet Hall on Preston Street. The honorary co-chairs are Italian Ambassador to Canada Gian Lorenzo Cornado and Cyril Leeder, president of the Ottawa Senators hockey club. As a benefit for the Ottawa Senators Foundation and Opera Lyra, the gala will feature Italian cuisine, a live and silent auction including items donated by businesses, artists and other supporters, Senators memorabilia, and music by soprano Lara Ciekiewicz and mezzo-soprano Arminè Kassabian, Senators anthem singer Lyndon Slewidge, organist Greg Drover and former Sens players.
